How do I know if my gutters need to be replaced?
A few things to look for: gutters pulling away from the fascia, visible sagging or separation at the seams, peeling paint or rust streaks on the siding below, water pooling near the foundation after rain, or gutters that overflow even during moderate storms. Some issues are repairable. Others mean the system needs to come down and be done right. An on-site assessment tells you which is which.
What's the difference between 5-inch and 6-inch gutters?
Size is about roof pitch and drainage volume. A steeper roof or larger surface area moves more water faster than a standard 5-inch system can handle, especially during a Texas downpour. 6-inch gutters have roughly 40% more capacity. The right call gets made during the assessment, not before it.
Why do gutters pull away from the house?
Usually one of three things: the original hangers were spaced too far apart, the fascia board behind them has rotted and can no longer hold a fastener, or the gutters were never pitched correctly and standing water has been adding weight over time. A repair might fix it temporarily. If the fascia is compromised, that needs to be addressed before new gutters go up or the same problem comes back.
How does rainwater harvesting work and is it worth it in Texas?
A properly installed system captures runoff from the roof through the gutter system, filters it, and routes it to a storage tank sized for the intended use. RainReady installs high-quality poly tank systems -- proven, durable, and well-suited to the Central Texas climate -- sized from 100 to 10,000 gallons for irrigation, livestock support, or emergency reserves. The full installation is handled turnkey: gutters, routing, tank placement, pad prep, and outlet plumbing. Texas law actively encourages rainwater harvesting, and RainReady designs all systems to meet local codes.
What causes standing water and drainage problems in a yard?
Most yard drainage problems trace back to one of a few sources: downspouts that terminate too close to the foundation, low spots in the grading that collect runoff, compacted soil that doesn't absorb water, or no system at all managing where water goes after it leaves the roof. A site walkthrough identifies the actual source rather than treating symptoms.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Twice a year is the baseline for most properties: once in late spring after pollen and seed season, and once in late fall after leaves have dropped. Properties with heavy tree coverage may need it more often. Clogged gutters back up water against the fascia, add weight that pulls hangers loose, and can push water under the roofline.
What's the difference between permanent lighting and holiday lighting?
Permanent architectural lighting is installed once and stays year-round -- designed to complement the exterior of the home, enhancing curb appeal and security every day. Holiday lighting is a seasonal service: custom-cut C9 LED bulbs sized to the specific roofline, professionally installed before the season and taken down and stored afterward. The two services are completely separate and can be combined.
